RRS offers an all-inclusive Coyote engine conversion for your early classic Ford. The engine swap includes engine mounts, specific-fit headers, plug-and-play wiring harness, and flash factory ECU. It also features a range of transmission options and gearbox cross-members. Enhance the performance of your vintage ride with RRS’s comprehensive Coyote engine swap package.
The Coyote Swap is becoming the number-one engine swap in Australia, Canada, and the USA. RRS has built these cars to develop RRS products and form partnerships with other suppliers to overcome technical issues.
If you are planning to put a Coyote into your Falcon, Mustang, Fairlane, or Maverick, RRS has the answers.
Since 2000 RRS has been developing new ways to apply the latest technology to classic Ford cars. The Coyote engine swap is RRS's latest challenge. Take the new Coyote 5L engine, build performance headers and then fit it into the smallest engine bay going around (a 1970 Ford Maverick).
Coyote is a wide motor bolted on a good set of extractors, and you need room where traditional upper control arms are or where A "Mustang 2" upper control arms would go. The best answer is RRS coil-overs and notch the towers.
Upgrade your suspension while you make room where you need it.
To convert your classic Ford to a Coyote takes room. On average, 10" (25cm) more engine bay than you have now. So you are going to have to create more room.
You can achieve this by replacing your factory front suspension with coil-overs and notching the towers, without any detrimental chassis effects. It has been proven by all the performance manufacturers that strut front ends require less sheet metal, because of a lower force transference (road impacts) to maintain a reliable chassis structure, with less flex.
Notching the towers is essential in the smaller (XK-XP, Falcon Sprint, Maverick, and early Mustang) engine bays. Pictured above is an XY Falcon with RRS headers, the notched towers improve airflow and serviceability.
RRS has developed a shock tower notching kit called Thunderbolt for Falcon, Fairlane, Mustang and Maverick.
To widen the engine bay you will need to eliminate the upper control arms. This is easily achieved with RRS height adjustable coil overs.
The Grabber engine mounts are torque limiting for greater performance. RRS has developed the Grabber engine mounts to fit Coyote motors to Falcons, Fairlanes, Fairmonts, LTD's, Mustangs, Mavericks, Torinos, US Falcons and Fairlanes and the Mercury Cougar, Comets, Cyclones, and Montegos.
RRS's latest fast ratio bolt-in powered rack, now with a five-year warranty.
The Coyote motor requires a front sump meaning the fitting of an RRS rack is simple.
The Coyote motor, either as a new crate or salvaged motor, does not have a power steer pump.
RRS has an E-pump kit. The E-pump can be mounted either flat or upright making finding room so much easier.
The RRS Sump Pan & Pickup is custom-built to give extra capacity and made to clear factory X member.
RRS Coyote 4 into 1 Headers - 1 ¾ inch ID Mandrel Bent Tube.
The Coyote is a big motor, so engine bay real estate is at a premium. RRS recommends the under dash brake booster system. Available in manual or auto / left or right hand drive.
Shock tower bracing kits are a great way to build extra stiffness into the front end.
Sill panel bracing kits will reduce torsion creating a stiffer car and improving handling.
RRS uses and recommends Earl’s for your fuel and fluid plumbing.
Le Mans lower control arms feature polished forged billet. Not essential, just way cool.
